I've never had any formal training in woodworking, but I enjoy making furniture and practical things with the limited tools and space I have in my urban condo. I've made many mistakes and try not to let that stop me from tackling the next project.
We built a dining table and TV stand out of Home Depot wood, with no tools except a power drill! We had Home Depot make all the cuts for us. While they're not precision masterpieces, it's a different level of satisfying to eat off a table you made.

Always have good helpers with you!

Being in a small condo means maximizing space is key. We built a Murphy bed from a Rockler kit. We had the wood pre-cut at a lumber yard and used a power drill and doweling kit for the rest! Afterward we added the whiteboard and converted an IKEA table into a foldable table using hinges and magnets.
